Ernest Hemingway
American journalist and novelist
died 2nd July 1961
Hemmingway’s most memorable works are drawn from his own experiences. ‘Farewell to Arms’ followed his time as an ambulance driver in Italy during World War 1.
His Pulitzer Prize winning novel, ‘The Old Man and the Sea’ based around his time in Cuba.
Many of his books were adapted into films.
Hemmingway died at his home in Idaho, USA.
