Dear Diary
Saturday
I am developing a conscience about getting my own way so often. We set out for the Normandie Hall in Barking to go to the Carnival Dance. We got to the level crossing before I told him I didn’t want to go. He wasn’t even annoyed. We walked back to the London Road and went for a drink in the new pub there. We didn’t stay long as it was so crowded we had to stand up.
It was 9.30 when we got home. The family were out for once. Jennifer had persuaded Mum and Dad to go to the fair at Barking Park and it was 11 o’clock before they got home.
